THIRD GRADE NOTES

DECEMBER 15 – 19, 2008

 Dear Parents,

This last week of school will be filled with excitement and anticipation as the students (and teachers!) await the arrival of Christmas and a long vacation. Imagine the waiting and longing of the many faithful and the announcement that finally the Savior would be born. What wonder and gladness there was! We rejoice with the angels and sing, “Glory in the highest!”

This week ends our 2nd grading period and also the first semester. Report cards will be available for viewing on the Webgrader on Tuesday, January 6th.

            Our week looks like this:

MEMORY:  We will finish the last of the Christmas memory.

SPELLING:  No spelling this week. Words for the first week in January will be sent home in the folder this Friday.

SOCIAL STUDIES:  Test over Chapter 5 on Tuesday. The study guide was sent home in the folder on Friday.

SCIENCE:  Test over Chapter 4 on Wednesday. The study guide is attached.

ENGLISH: Test over Group 8 sentences on Wednesday.

MATH:  Chapter 7 test on Thursday.

AR: Not all students have met their goal yet, but I anticipate they will by the end of the week. Our goal for next quarter will be 6 points. Read for fun over the holidays.

CHRISTMAS EXCHANGE GIFTS may be brought in any time this week. Please make sure there is a tag on the gift.

CHURCH ATTENDANCE during the holidays can be kept track of with the paper that will be coming home in the folder on Friday. Place it in a convenient place and mark each time your family attends church. Return it when vacation is over.

BOXTOP collection is this Friday.

CHRISTMAS VACATION begins at the end of the day on Friday, December 19th and school will resume on Monday, January 5th.

I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New year.

 Have a great week!
