Religion

Our bible account for this week is the story of Pentecost. Last week we learned of Jesus promise to send the Holy Spirit.   This week that promise is kept.   Such an interesting account.  I can see the work of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of each of your children.   This was especially true when we talked about Mrs. Lewis going to heaven.  Their words of faith are sure and certain.   May it always be so!

Chapel offerings for this month are designated to Lutheran World Relief to help in sharing God's love around the world.

Language Arts

Our story for the week is titled "Wet Bandit" and the new words we will be adding to our sight word bank are 'some' and 'come'.   Continuing work with blends, this week we will look at s blends.

We will continue to work on retelling information from stories and will address finding the most important details from the story to support the plot, problem and solution to a story.

Math

A lot of measuring has been going on in our room.  We have worked on height, length and capacity.   This week we move on to temperature as well as comparing measurable attributes and noting the tools needed to do the measuring.

Science/Social Studies

No doubt you have heard that ALL of our chrysalis hatched this week.   They are enjoying drinking from orange slices and flitting about their "indoor garden".   This coming week we will say goodbye and wish them well as we let them fly into God's big world.

Our new unit of study includes solving some STEM problems.   We heard the story of the Gingerbread man and have decided that we could change the ending of the story by creating a boat, bridge or hiding place for the Gingerbread Man.   We will be working on these projects in the coming days with planning, building and rethinking

Memory

Repent and be baptized... and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Acts 2:38
